World Breastfeeding Week Celebration

We joined local NGOs to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week in Western Bahr El Ghazal State. The rainy season means healthy crops, like leafy greens, aren't available, and as a result, women do not receive adequate nutrition to support their children.

Breastfeeding provides unmatched health benefits for babies and mothers. Along with meeting a growing baby's health and nutrition needs, breastfeeding can help lower a mother’s risk of high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, ovarian cancer, and breast cancer.
