Help Us Name the Giraffe

The Iron Giraffe Challenge is well underway—and with 5 months left in the school campaign, we’re adding something special to keep the momentum going.

Meet our giraffe, a symbol of determination, impact, and the long journey to clean water in South Sudan. This giraffe has been traveling with the challenge, cheering on schools as they raise funds to bring safe, reliable water to communities that need it most.

Now, we’re inviting schools to help name him.

Vote for one of the following meaningful names:

Nubi
Short for Nubian, referencing the Nubian giraffe and the Nubia region of Northeast Africa, including South Sudan. Warm, friendly, and culturally meaningful—perfect for a giraffe mascot students can connect with.

Baringo
Inspired by Lake Baringo in East Africa, where giraffes are native. This name feels adventurous, geographic, and mission-aligned—ideal for a challenge built around movement, distance, and impact.

Kito
Meaning “precious” or “valuable” in Swahili. A powerful reflection of the lives changed through clean water and the communities supported through the Iron Giraffe Challenge.
