Add water, life blossoms
South Sudan is Africa's newest country, about the size of Texas in the US. It is not as well-known as Sudan’s Darfur region. But its people face similar hardships, including lack of safe, drinkable water in a harsh desert climate.
To date, Water for South Sudan has successfully drilled 137 borehole wells, bringing clean, safe water to hundreds of thousands of people in South Sudan. A single well may serve several thousand people.
Hope for a better life springs from a well. Women don’t spend their days trekking long distances for water. Children may go to school, expanding their dreams and the possibility to fulfill them. Small businesses, even markets become possible.
Where safe water flows, life can blossom.
